RESILIENT DE SOTO: FLOOD AFFECTED HOUSEHOLDS SURVEY
Dear Neighbor,
Starting in 2013, the Joachim Creek flash-flooded four times in three years. The City of De Soto, Citizens Committee for Flood Relief (CCFR), and Buy-In Community Planning have created this survey to better understand the need for flood relief in De Soto, Missouri. This survey is a key part of an ongoing Flood Resilience Planning effort being created by the City of De Soto. It will help determine the support for a public buyout program for people in homes that flood, and other improvements in public facilities, housing, and services in De Soto.
This survey will help the City of De Soto determine the level of interest in buyouts as well as identify potential funding to support buyout implementation or other resilience strategies. However, you do not need to want a buyout in order to complete this survey. Your participation is appreciated to help plan for a more Resilient De Soto.
This survey is designed to gather information on:
You and your family’s experiences with flooding
Your housing situation and whether you’d like to move or use other strategies to reduce the flood risk you face at home
Other opinions about your home, neighborhood, and community
If you have any questions about this project, please email info@buy-in.org.
This survey is for informational purposes only. It does not constitute an application to a buyout program nor does it guarantee participation in a buyout program.
