Workshop Description and Registration
Date: November 21, 2025
Time: 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm
Researchers are often asked to make research visible, to have an active online profile, and to engage with other academics in social media circles. However, the push for engaged, online public scholarship is sometimes at odds with what we know of online behaviour: online harassment, doxxing, and other forms of abuse are widespread online and can wreak catastrophic damage. This workshop provides a glimpse into the nature of online research-based harassment and provides an empowering approach to managing your risk and online safety through the use of safety planning and strategic action.
