Project Background: The name SandiCoast Cafe was created in large part by students from San Diego Unified School District almost 13 years ago. A logo with a surf/beach theme was created and has been used since.
We want to update the logo for use in all of our school cafes, and three things were important as part of the process:
1) Retain The Student-Created Name: We want to build on the student-led creation of the SandiCoast Cafe name.
2) Represent More of San Diego Unified: It is important that a new logo reflects the breadth and diversity of the communities served by San Diego Unified Schools, not merely a stereotypical beach theme. This is reflected in the San Diego city-scape.
3) Maintain a Color Scheme Consistent with The Overall School District Logo: We want to use the same colors that are part of the San Diego Unified School District logo and brand guidelines to make sure that the logos work together and look and feel like they are part of the same organization.
