Background

The Town of Stouffville is undertaking a New Sign By-law Project to consolidate its existing sign by-laws (the Portable Signs By-law and the Signs and Advertising Devices By-law) into one comprehensive modern by-law. The existing Election Signs By-law will also be updated as part of this project but will remain as a standalone document.

The New Sign By-law and the updated Election Signs By-law will guide residents and business owners who erect signs for their facilities, businesses, and services and ensure signs are designed, installed and maintained to meet the Town’s design objectives and ensure public safety.

The purpose of this survey is to engage with residents, interested parties, the development industry, and users of the existing sign by-laws at the onset of the project to gather meaningful insights and feedback from respondents. The comments and feedback received will help guide the development of the New Sign By-law and help prepare a framework that is aligned with local needs and priorities and ensure it is user friendly.

Opportunities for engagement are available throughout the duration of the project so please feel free to contact us at signbylaw@townofws.ca

The survey should take 10-15 minutes to complete.
