What is a Firm Tour? Firm Tours are an opportunity for emerging professionals, graduate and undergraduate students to see the working environments of architecture firms around the Twin Cities. We welcome a variety of firms to participate in an attempt to reflect the diversity of office culture and professional practice.
Who attends the Firm Tours? The AIA Emerging Professionals Committee extends the invite to architecture students at the University of Minnesota and Dunwoody, AIAS, MNSEA Young Member Group, Assoc. AIA, and architectural emerging professionals who have been licensed less than 10 years.
When does a Firm Tour happen? A typical Firm Tour is scheduled from 5pm to 7pm on a Thursday approximately every other month. We request the Firm Tour at 5:30 pm to allow people time to arrive. We are open to adjusting the time and day to coordinate with a firm’s schedule.
What are the requirements? We request that the hosting firm be able to accomodate the following:
Host up to 50 EPs, although average attendance in 2018 was 20 people. Attendees are asked to pre-register so we can tell the hosting firm how many people to expect.
1-2 people from firm leadership able to attend and lead the tour
