Question Title

Secretary
Keisha G. Rogers, Ph.D., CRC, LPC, LCAS
Hello, my name is Keisha G. Rogers and I am campaigning to continue my position as NAMRC’s Secretary. As a your current Secretary I endeavor to continue to accurately capture all meeting minutes and provide these in a timely manner to our President. As a long-time member of NAMRC, I understand our organization’s goals and mission. NAMRC’s mission is to promote cultural diversity and disability  through advocacy for excellence and equity in rehabilitation research, education, and practice. I demonstrate my commitment to NAMRC’s mission through my roles as a rehabilitation educator and counseling practitioner by infusing multicultural competency in all of my courses and providing culturally relevant interventions with the consumers I serve. I also conduct and publish research in the area of multicultural rehabilitation counseling. In fact, I have recently submitted for publication, a manuscript specifically examining professional organization membership behaviors and intentionally included NAMRC as an organization of interest in the study. As stated in our By-Laws, I will  work with the Public Relations Chair and Marketing Committee to help promote about our organization which in turn will help us grow our membership. My scholarly efforts also work towards this goal as the publication of the manuscript may provide NAMRC exposure to those who may otherwise not have heard of us. As Secretary, I will work cooperatively with the rest of the Board and serve NAMRC, our members and community to the best of my ability.

Question Title

President- Elect

Robin E. Dock, Ph.D., CRC, CFMHE, ACS, LPCS
Considering the important role of NAMRC in my own professional development, the office of President-Elect is a great way to continue to give back, be a role model for students, and to increase professional networking opportunities amongst the NAMRC membership and our rehabilitation counseling students.  I will continue a focus on enhancing service delivery that is equitable, competent, accessible and comprehensive for individuals with disabilities from culturally diverse backgrounds.

As you will see from my CV, over my 20-year career in rehabilitation counseling, I have demonstrated a commitment to the counseling profession and the rehabilitation specialty through the supervision of counselors in training and the preparation of future counselors as well as an advocate for the access, equity, and inclusion for all people with an emphasis on people with disabilities.  I am a certified rehabilitation counselor (CRC), a certified approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS), a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPCS), hold a Georgia profession counselor license (LPC), and a North Carolina Professional Counselor license (LPC). I am an active member of the National Association of Multicultural Rehabilitation Concerns a division of the National Rehabilitation Association (NAMRC), an active member of the American Rehabilitation Counseling Association (ARCA), a division of the American Counseling Association, and serve as a board member of the Ken Wheat Career Academy of Greensboro (a private school for at risk boys of color). I have been recognized for continuous excellence in rehabilitation education, commitment to student learning, ongoing commitment to multiculturalism, and health care disparities for minority populations with disabilities.

If elected to the office of President-Elect, my platform will be to “Advance the Association through membership engagement and student mentorship.” I would work to increase membership by partnering with state NRA chapters, state NAMRC chapters, and other related organizations. I would also work to enhance student mentorship within the association as we build toward the future and developing the association’s future leaders.
