The Council of the District of Invermere is developing the 2020-2024 Financial Plan that addresses the needs of Invermere’s diversity, reflects shared priorities and moves the District toward important goals.  We invite you to assist us by sharing your thoughts on how we should create a balanced budget that addresses municipal priorities and remains fiscally responsible.  This annual survey provides you with an opportunity to outline your priorities as it relates to the DOI budgeting process.  Your participation is important and is a key component of our process for developing the 2020-2024 budget, assisting us in allocating funds and services, and determining tax rates. 
 
The survey can be found on the DOI website, www.invermere.net or hardcopies of the survey are available at the District Office located at 914 - 8th Avenue.  Surveys can be submitted up until 4:30 pm Wednesday, November 20, 2019.

SOLID WASTE

ATHALMER LANDS

The District has completed the purchase of the Athalmer Lands adjacent to Lake Windermere and incorporating Pete’s Marina and the Boat Launch.  The District will be initiating a neighborhood planning process early in 2020 to begin developing the future land use in the Athalmer area and the recently acquired lands.  To begin the process, Council wishes to ask the following:

HOUSING ISSUES

Housing within Invermere continues to be one of the key issues within the community.  With the short term rentals becoming more attractive, rental accommodations for new residents and seasonal employees is impacting the local economy.  The District has created a Task Force on Housing and is preparing to complete a Housing Needs Assessment in 2020 to begin developing policies to address the issues, please answer the following housing related questions.
