No dance experience? Perfect.
Lucy Guerin Inc. and Her Majesty's Theatre Ballarat are looking for two local male presenting people with no formal dance training to perform in UNTRAINED, an acclaimed contemporary dance work that has been presented around the world.

This is a paid performance opportunity where two everyday Ballarat blokes share the stage with professional dancers. You don't need to be a great dancer. In fact, that's the point.

We're looking for men with personality, confidence, a sense of humour, and a willingness to give it a go.

WHAT'S UNTRAINED?
UNTRAINED explores what happens when people without dance training attempt to follow highly skilled professional dancers. Here's the good news - perfect moves are not the point! What matters is how the untrained guys match the professionals in their own way. It's funny, surprising, entertaining, and celebrates the Ballarat spirit of people just having a go.

PAYMENT
We will pay the successful untrained performers $1221.10 plus 12% superannuation plus holiday pay for the week of their engagement.

AUDITION DATES
Audition applications are now open and close on 5pm Tuesday 8 September. Submission of an application does not confirm your attendance at the auditions.

Applicants who are invited to attend auditions will be notified on Wednesday 16 September.

Auditions will be held on Saturday 3rd October from 10AM – 4PM at Civic Hall. The audition is in the form of a casual
dance workshop with Lucy Guerin and a trained dancer.

1. ELIGIBILITY
We’re searching for untrained dancers from any walk of life, as long as you don’t have any formal dance training. Lucy will be looking for a physical contrast between the professional and untrained dancers. Some parts of the show can be quite funny, so you’ll need a good sense of humour and be able to take a joke.

All attending the audition must confirm:
- I am aged 18 or over
- I am male presenting
- I am completely untrained in dance
- I am fit and healthy
- I am confident in front of a lot of people on stage
- I have a good sense of humour
- I can be available for publicity requests, including being filmed for media and marketing purposes during the audition workshop, rehearsal and the performance
- I am ready to follow standard performance protocols, such as being contactable, arrive on time, look after myself, follow stage calls, and not partake in any activities that could compromise my judgment or ability to perform (Required.)

2. THE UNTRAINED COMMITMENT
The two successful applicants will help create and perform UNTRAINED and must be available for the full rehearsal and performance period. Rehearsal workshops will be held at Her Majesty's Theatre on the following dates:

MON 30 NOV (10AM - 6PM)
TUE 01 DEC (10AM - 6PM)
WED 02 DEC (10AM - 6PM)
THU 03 DEC (10AM - 6PM)
FRI 04 DEC (10AM - 6PM)
SAT 05 DEC (7.30PM - 8.30PM) (Required.)

3. EVENT RECORDING RELEASE
By participating, you agree that Lucy Guerin Inc. and Her Majesty's Theatre Ballarat may photograph, film, and record you during auditions, rehearsals, and performances. These recordings may be used for promotional, marketing, documentation, reporting, archival, and publication purposes across print, digital, social media, websites, and other communications channels, without further approval or compensation.
