Application to attend the 2027 Delaware Victim Assistance Academy

The CJC is pleased to present the 2027 Delaware Victim Assistance Academy, happening March 14-19, 2027 in Dewey Beach! This hybrid training focuses on foundational skills for victim advocates and service providers. The DVAA is designed for those with under 4 years of experience working with victims of crime. If interested, be aware that the application process may take 10-15 minutes and applications are not able to be saved as incomplete. The deadline to apply is 11:59pm on Thursday, November 5th.

To apply you'll need:
1) Your and your supervisor's contact info
2) Basic information about the type of work you do and how it relates to serving survivors of crime in DE
3) Thoughtful responses to questions about your role in serving victims of crime and why you think your participation in the DVAA will benefit you, your agency, the wider victim services community, and the victims you serve.

What to expect if you join the next DVAA class: Participants are expected to attend and complete all sessions and materials. Coursework includes approximately 8 hours of virtual, self-paced lessons during February/March, followed by in-person engagement and application of core knowledge and skills in Dewey Beach from Sunday, March 14rd through Friday, March 19th.

The Acceptance Process: Space is limited and the acceptance process involves an application (this Survey Monkey form) and live interviews in January. Apply now for a chance to be a part of the 2027 DVAA Class!

Why is some content virtual?: The Delaware Victim Assistance Academy must offer 40+ hours of instruction, but due to feedback from prior DVAA Classes, the 2027 DVAA is using a hybrid approach, with ~8 hours of materials offered virtually. These materials must be completed in advance of the in-person sessions.
