Course Description:

This full-day course focuses on how you can access benefits as a migrant in the UK, including:
  • What tests you have to pass and how to do this
  • Common issues you might face when applying
  • Benefits for non-EEA nationals
  • Benefits for EEA nationals and their family members, and how this will be changing in future
  • Challenging benefits decisions
  • Legal aid
  • Professional ethics
Information will also be available on the different benefits that exist, including Universal Credit, however this will not be covered in depth.

This course will NOT cover applications to lift a ‘No Recourse to Public Funds’ condition.  We hope to be able to cover this in a separate training event in partnership with the Unity Project who specialise in this area.
