Public Works & Transportation Commission Application

The City Council of the City of East Palo Alto is seeking candidates to make the following Public Works & Transportation Commission appointments for the following terms:

Five (6) Regular Seats: From May 31, 2024 through May 31, 2027.
One (1) Alternate Seat: From May 31, 2024 through May 31, 2027

The application period will close on Friday, May 24, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. The City will only be accepting applications via this link. The appointments will be made at a Council meeting mid to late May.

Overview: This committee is charged with advising the City Council on matters related to the adequacy and improvement of all types of public and private transportation within and cross the City, including:

The best approaches to establishing and maintaining systems and facilities for the transport of people and goods around the City;
  • The coordination of motor vehicle, bicycle, mass transit, and pedestrian traffic facilities;
  • The development and encouragement of the most efficient and least detrimental overall transportation system for the City supporting the goals of the General Plan;
  • Coordination with regional transportation systems; and
  • Serving as an appeals board for appeals from staff determinations concerning establishment of traffic signs, pavement markings, speed zones, parking regulations, traffic signals, bike lanes, bus stops, etc.
