If there was ever a time to prioritise your wellbeing as an Executive Leader in the NHS, it is now. As we navigate our way through the combination of increasing demands, complex service/imminent winter pressures and the impact of workforce and economic challenges, it is easy to lose sight of ourselves. Yet all the evidence shows that leaders’ wellbeing influences workforce wellbeing, which directly impacts patient care, experience and outcomes. Leaders are people too, and we need to support their wellbeing so that they are better able to care for the teams they lead.
Senior leaders play a critical role in shaping the culture and success of their organisations. Prioritising your health and wellbeing not only benefits you personally but also has far-reaching positive effects on your teams and the entire organisation. It is an investment in leadership effectiveness, employee engagement, and in the long-term sustainability of your organisation. We are specifically asking that a member of the Executive Team from organisations who are sponsoring facilitators of the Local NHS Leaders’ Wellbeing Programme take up a place on this programme.
