Before we get started, here's what you need to know about Spotlight.
We want to hear your story. As a new ratings service in higher education, we’re trying something a bit different. We know how students experience their respective colleges and universities depends on a lot of factors, including identity. Lots of services provide information about cafeteria food or academic curriculum, but few strive to capture how someone with a disability, or who comes from a religious minority, or who is a person of color, or who sits at the intersection of all of those identities might experience college. These questions are designed to get to the heart of how you have experienced college life.
In the spirit of transparency - one of our core values - here is how the data you provide will and will not be used:
Your data will be used to...
Create free ratings available publicly and anonymously
Create free and monetized research reports (also anonymous)
Conduct internal analyses
Provide, develop, and customize products and services for college applicants and/or college students
Your data will not be used to...
Conduct transactions with other business entities (we aren't selling your data), with the exception to monetized research reports as stated above
Publicly name you or any respondent
You must be a currently enrolled student in order to fill out this survey. Once our platform is built, the information you provide will be anonymously shared on the Spotlight website, available for future college applicants to view in hope that they are more aware of the environments they wish to call home.
