Nomination form | Deadly Sex Congress 2022 Excellence Awards

The Deadly Sex Congress Excellence Awards recognise, celebrate, promote and reward the work of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers in sexual health, sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and blood borne viruses (BBVs). The awards are supported by Queensland Health.

Awards ceremony: 
VOCO Gold Coast, Wednesday 12 October from 6:30pm 
 
Award categories (more details on next page):
  • Category 1 Organisation, Service, Program or Project Excellence Award.
  • Category 2 Individual Excellence Awards.
Awardees will also be invited to provide a short, community story presentation at the Deadly Sex Congress to talk about their work. Awardees will be notified a month prior to the Congress to allow for preparation time.

Who can submit a nomination?
  1. Any organisation or individual who works in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander sexual health, STIs or BBVs in Queensland. 
  2. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers are encouraged to submit applications for themselves, their peers, and/or an organisation. 
  3. Organisations or individuals may apply themselves or nominate another organisation or individual. 
  4. An organisation or individual can submit multiple applications. 
 
The Awards Process
  • Applications will be assessed by the Deadly Sex Organising Committee.
  • The Deadly Sex Organising Committee reserves the right to defer awards if there are no suitable nominees.
  • Decisions are final, and no appeals are possible.
  • The application must provide sufficient information for the Committee to make a fair judgement.
