The County invites your feedback on plans to transform depleted gravel leases (gravel pits) north of the Wapiti River and east of Highway 40. Through the remediation of this land, our plan is to create a low-impact outdoor recreation area where active lifestyles, new habitat and ecosystems and environmental stewardship co-exists.
Due to environmental sensitivity, no motorized and Off-Highway vehicles or hunting will be allowed. Off-highway vehicles will still be allowed on unoccupied public (crown) lands located north of the gravel leases.
This voluntary survey will be of interest to residents in the County of Grande Prairie, City of Grande Prairie, MD of Greenview and surrounding communities, and visitors of the area.
