Introduction

Disability Rights South Carolina (DRSC) is a statewide nonprofit serving as the protection and advocacy system (P&A) and Client Assistance Program (CAP) for South Carolina. P&A’s are the only legally based advocacy organization established by Congress to protect the rights of all individuals with disabilities. Our mission is to protect and advance the legal, civil, and human rights of people with disabilities in South Carolina. We provide free individual legal and advocacy assistance while also working systemically to tackle a variety of issues. Because our resources are limited, we cannot provide legal and other advocacy assistance for every request. We want to ensure that our work is having the greatest impact on people with disabilities. To do this, every year we put together goals and priorities that guide our work. In order to write these goals, we gather internal, local and state data and feedback from the community. Information gathered through this survey will be used to refine these goals and objectives, ensuring that our work aligns with the needs of our community.
