Intro: Evaluation of the Affirming Sunday program, SK Conference

Welcome! Here's some background, and information on why your Intercultural Network is offering this evaluation. Please note that deadline for this survey is February 14.

In 2013 Saskatchewan Conference became Affirming: a designated ministry under Affirm United/ S’affirmer Ensemble’s Affirming ministry program. (See for more background.) This means we’re publicly, intentionally, and explicitly welcoming of LGBTQQIA+ and Two Spirit communities.

Affirming ministries in the Conference as of November 2017:
St Andrew’s United Church, Moose Jaw
Eastside United Church, Regina
Grosvenor Park United Church, Saskatoon
McClure United Church, Saskatoon
Meewasin Valley United Church, Saskatoon
River Bend Presbytery
St James United Church, Regina
St Martin’s United Church, Saskatoon
St Andrew’s College, Saskatoon
St Thomas-Wesley United Church, Saskatoon
Sunset United Church, Regina

The Affirming Sunday program: For the past number of years, SK Conference has held an annual Affirming Sunday. An Affirming ministry chooses a Sunday and offers liturgical and community resources that highlight being or becoming Affirming, and that support the full inclusion of sexual- and gender- diverse people. This program is unique in the country, and your Intercultural Network conveners feel we should take the time to evaluate how it’s going. Your comments will be very helpful as we plan, and we thank you in advance for taking the time to help us evaluate and learn.
