Comment on our Proposed Goals & Objectives for FY 2019

You are invited to rate and comment below on our proposed objectives for Fiscal Year 2019.  Our focus for the next five years is on three Priority areas: Freedom from Harm, Most Inclusive Settings, and Engaging People with Disabilities in Advocacy.

The Objectives, listed under each goal, tell how we plan to get there. We think all of these things are important, but we want your opinion. Make regular visits to the Beatrice State Developmental Center (BSDC) on a monthly basis and review their facility incident reports every month to make sure residents are free from harm.

Develop and implement the Protection and Advocacy for Beneficiaries of the Representative Payee Program to make sure representative payees do not misuse funds or neglect or abuse the people with disabilities they are supposed to be helping.

Address guardianship issues through trainings, and work with the Office of Public Guardian to change guardianship procedures to make guardianships less restrictive and more supportive of the person.
