The purpose of this squad is to recognise and acknowledge combinations that are achieving outstanding scores in Preliminary to Elementary on a regular basis with evidence of consistency, trainability and future potential. Successful combinations will receive a jacket badge and saddlecloth badge, and will be offered opportunities to participate QLD squad clinics.
The Dressage Queensland Talent Recognition Squad will ideally contain promising horses aged from 4 - 8
years competing in Preliminary to Elementary level (only Official Competitive scores will be considered):

- Preliminary combinations will be expected to be achieving scores of 73% or higher with at least 4 scores recorded
- Novice combinations will be expected to be achieving scores of 72% or higher with at least 4 scores recorded
- Elementary combinations will be expected to be achieving scores of 70% or higher with at least 4 scores recorded
Freestyle, HC, Young Horse, Interschool and Eventing scores will not be considered.
Horses already included on other Dressage Queensland squads (Senior or Young Rider) are not eligible.

- Regular achievement of outstanding percentages
- Regular achievement of 7 or more for Paces and 7 or more for Submission
Scores submitted are to be unweighted. Scores must be achieved in the 12 months prior to close of applications. Applications must be received before October 31st in the application year and successful
applicants will be notified by November 30th. The Squad will be presented at the DQ End of Year Awards Night. Selection is for specific horse and rider combinations who have obtained the qualifying scores
