Welcome

Thank you for your interest in training with Midwest Access Project.

For this training cycle, most will train in the spring.

MAP can only offer hands-on clinical training in procedures that fall within your healthcare profession's scope of practice as defined by the state law where you train. Although MAP hopes to expand opportunities for APCs in the future, MAP cannot currently train Advanced Practice Clinicians to perform any surgical abortion procedure at any of its training sites. MAP can offer APCs training in medication abortion at several of its training sites. Prior to applying, MAP encourages applicants to refer to the professional scope of practice act in the state where you intend to train and/or practice to learn which procedures you have the authority to practice. Additionally, MAP requests that students and residents confirm whether permission is needed from their program before applying.

This application will require approximately 30 minutes to complete. Since draft applications cannot be saved for later revisions, please be prepared to complete the entire application in one session. You can refer to the Clinical Training Application Guide for a list of questions you may want to consider drafting responses to before sitting to complete the application.

Deadline: Applications are due by midnight CST on Friday, October 9, 2020.  All applications will be reviewed and responded to by Friday, October 23, 2020.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact MAP's Program Director, Ren Grabert at ren@midwestaccessproject.org or (773) 944-0594.

Midwest Access Project (MAP) is a nonprofit organization based in Chicago, IL that works with medical students, nursing students, residents, advanced practice clinicians, and licensed physicians to coordinate reproductive health training rotations to meet the individual needs of each trainee. MAP is not a health center or clinical site and does not provide any direct patient care. MAP works with a network of providers throughout the Midwest to coordinate and provide training rotations to MAP trainees.
