Global Surgery Survey

The discipline of global surgery encompasses the equitable and high-quality delivery of clinical services, research, education, and advocacy on behalf of those afflicted by surgical conditions worldwide. 90% of the burden of trauma is thought to occur in low and middle-income countries. The aim of this survey is to collect information on international global surgical partnerships with low and middle-income countries amongst the AAST membership. The purpose of this survey is to display results in a comprehensive, current, open-access database. This will ideally enable interested trainees and faculty interested in collaborative efforts in this field to more easily find and pursue opportunities, and enhance efforts to address trauma in LMICs.  Our objective is to pair people and institutions representing AAST members with interested people and institutions in LMICs.
