Scholarship Information:
The National Upholstery Association (NUA) is proud to announce a scholarship opportunity, open to current NUA members who incorporate — or are interested in incorporating — window treatments, bedding, lampshades, or other soft furnishing offerings into their businesses. By supporting attendance at the 2026 Custom Workroom Conference in Erie, PA, the NUA hopes to help members expand their skills, diversify their services, and strengthen connections across the broader soft furnishings industry.
The Selected Recipient of This Scholarship Will Receive the Following:
Up to $1,200 to be used toward registration & attendance to the Custom Workroom Conference, including access to educational classes, vendor marketplace, networking events, and more

Please note the recipient will be asked for a Post-Course Reflection: The scholarship recipient will be asked to contribute a brief blog or newsletter piece for the NUA following completion of 2026 CWC attendance. This reflection should share highlights of their learning experience and insights gained, and will likely be featured in the subsequent NUA newsletter. The NUA scholarship for the 2026 Custom Workroom Conference is a remarkable opportunity that is open to all current NUA members looking to advance their careers.

Letter of Intent: Letter of Intent: A critical component of the application in which applicants are asked to articulate their long-term aspirations within the upholstery industry, including how they hope to grow, evolve, or diversify their businesses and skillsets. Applicants are especially encouraged to discuss their interest in — or current practice of —window treatments, bedding, lampshades, or other soft furnishing offerings as part of their professional development goals.
