Background

This survey is divided into four parts and should take approximately 10 minutes to complete.

On 21 July 2020, we published our Wholesale market information disclosure: review of thermal fuel disclosure consultation paper. We anticipate that the four proposals in this paper will increase visibility of market activities and allow participants to better manage risk, which will benefit consumers in the long-term through more efficient prices. These four proposals are:
  1. an amendment to the Code introducing a new reporting regime for parties to tell us what information they have decided not to disclose;
  2. a review of the guidelines for participants on wholesale market information disclosure obligations;
  3. a signpost webpage with static links to the location of information published by participants;
  4. a centralised disclosure website where parties can disclose material information.
The purpose of this survey is to obtain your feedback on proposals 2 - 4 and to help us further develop them. We will not treat any information here as a formal submission. Please respond to the consultation in the normal manner if you wish your views to be considered.

This survey should be completed by someone who has a good working knowledge of the information disclosure obligations under clause 13.2A of the Electricity Industry Participation Code (2010), eg, regulatory managers or staff involved in complying with disclosure obligations. Clause 13.2A(1) of the Code requires participants to disclose wholesale market information, unless one of the exclusions in Clause 13.2A(2) applies.

We intend to use the results from this survey:
  • To present in a summarised and anonymised format at the workshop on 14 August
  • To inform the discussion at the workshop and, combined with submissions on the consultation paper, further develop the proposals in that paper.
Please provide us with your feedback by  5pm, Friday 7 August.
