The Alaska Governor’s Council on Disabilities and Special Education is creating its next Five-Year State Plan for 2027–2031.

Federal law requires the Council to make this plan and to ask the public for input

The plan focuses on improving public systems that impact people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) and their families. This includes areas like education, employment, housing, transportation, community inclusion, emergency preparedness, and self-advocacy.

We are asking for your feedback on the proposed goal and priorities.

The public comment period is open through April 19, 2026.
