Asthma and the Mind

Parents/Carers

We know that living with asthma can have an impact on the lives of children, young people and families. Beat Asthma have teamed up with Clinical Psychologists in the NHS to create a series of resources for children, young people and their families to support their emotional and mental health.

We want to make sure that the voices of young people and their families are heard loud and clear.

We would love to hear your thoughts and ideas about the kinds of resources that you want us to create.

What will we do with your responses?
Your responses will be used to inform the type of resources we create.

We will not ask you for any identifiable information.

All responses will be kept anonymous and confidential.
1.How old is your child?
2.In what ways do you think asthma most affects children’s mental health? (You might think about their emotions, school, family, social life, or anything else).
3.When you look up information about asthma and mental health, what types of information do you find most helpful? (e.g. how to help your child cope with hospital appointments, how to support your children with questions about their health, how to help your child manage anxiety).
4.What resources would you like us to provide about your child’s mental health and well-being?
5.What format do you prefer information to be presented in? (e.g. written information, videos, podcasts)
6.If you could ask a psychologist one question about asthma and mental health, what would you ask them?
