Valley Metro is seeking feedback February 1-20, 2020 on the following grant application notice. Please read through the notice before commenting below.
Public notice is hereby made that Valley Metro is applying for federal financial assistance to provide public transportation service as follows: Route 685 - Gila Bend Connector, a deviated fixed-route service, for two years providing five round trips on weekdays and two round trips on Saturday serving the communities of Gila Bend, Buckeye, Avondale, Goodyear and west Phoenix. Route 685 -Gila Bend Connector, a deviated fixed-route service, for two years providing four round trips on weekdays within the city of Buckeye.

Public notice is further made that Valley Metro is also applying for federal financial assistance to purchase Preventive Maintenance services that will be used to provide public transportation service for: Route 685 - Gila Bend Connector, a deviated fixed-route service, for two years providing five round trips on weekdays and two round trips on Saturday serving the communities of Gila Bend, Buckeye, Avondale, Goodyear and west Phoenix. Route 685 - Gila Bend Connector, a deviated fixed-route service, for two years providing four round trips on weekdays within the city of Buckeye.

The project includes a request for Federal 5311 funding for two years for operation, administration and preventive maintenance for Valley Metro Route 685 - Gila Bend Connector. Route 685 is a deviated fixed-route service providing five round trips on weekdays and two round trips on Saturday serving the communities of Gila Bend, Buckeye, Avondale, Goodyear and west Phoenix. Route 685 also provides deviated fixed-route service of four round trips on weekdays within the city of Buckeye.

The transportation service will be available to the general public during all hours of operation. The project is expected to be financed by FTA Section 5311 Rural Program public transportation funds, with additional funds to be provided from Valley Metro and the city of Buckeye. The total federal share for operating and capital projects is expected to be up to $1,439,982.

Valley Metro ensures that the level and quality of transportation service is provided without regard to race, color, or national origin in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. Comments on the proposed project are invited from the general public, private bus and taxi companies, other public transportation providers and human service agencies. Interested parties may comment on the project in the below field.

If you wish to comment on any aspect of the proposed project, submit a proposal or a request for service coordination or request a public hearing on this project, you must make your interest known in writing within 15 calendar days of the date of this publication and provide your comments within 15 calendar days of your receipt of the project service description.
