The Pennsylvania House of Representatives recently passed a resolution requiring the Department of Revenue to conduct a study to examine the feasibility and cost savings associated with creating a statewide system for collecting the local earned income tax. The tax is currently collected by local taxing authorities.
As part of this study, the Department of Revenue is asking the public for input. As a reminder, the resolution only requires the department to conduct the study. It does not require any changes to the current local earned income tax system.
