Skills-based Volunteer ProgramAn easy way to re-frame Skills-based Volunteering is to think if you were to hire a consultant or contract employee (not having to worry about the budget) who would you want, what would they do, how long would you need them? Skilled volunteers can bring important resources to your organization. Youth/Family Volunteer Project & OpportunitiesVolunteerism and social responsibility are taught to children at a young age and there is an increased interest in families and youth groups giving back to the community. We can help you explore ways to engage youth in your mission. Days of Service or Done in a Day ProjectsUnited Way provides multiple community-wide Days of Service over the year. Let us know if you are interested in all your requesting groups of volunteers for a project. In the past projects have ranged from physical/manual labor, gardening, cleaning, hosting drives, reading, building wheelchair ramps, skill-based projects, and more. We look for opportunities every month of the year. Resources/Trainings for Volunteer ManagersIf your agency has a new Volunteer Coordinator or Program Staff Member that is going to be managing volunteers United Way can help connect them with Leaders in Volunteerism, trainings, resources, and possibly a mentor.
