NoDa On-Street Parking Enforcement Pilot |
The Charlotte Department of Transportation (CDOT) implemented an On-street Parking Enforcement Pilot Project in NoDa on North Davidson Street, Yadkin Avenue, North Alexander Street, North Brevard Street, 32nd, 33rd, 34th, 35th and 36th streets on January 2, 2018 to improve traffic and pedestrian safety.
CDOT staff worked to increase awareness, education and enforcement of on-street parking regulations in the area bounded by North Davidson Street to North Alexander Street, from North Brevard to 36th streets.
Park It! staff patrolled the designated area to assist in the enforcement of on-street parking regulations where illegally parked vehicles impair sight distances and impede turning movements at intersections, block fire hydrants or driveways, and prevent emergency vehicle and school bus access. Warning citations were distributed to vehicles parked illegally during the month of January and full enforcement occurred during the first two-weeks of February.
These changes are designed to provide a safer environment for area residents, businesses and visitors. Please take a few minutes to complete the survey and share your thoughts on the impact this program had on community safety.
