Housing is a major challenge for many regional communities, including Quairading. Through extensive community consultation, improved housing options were identified as a key priority in the Shire's Council Plan 2026-2036.

To help plan for the future, the Shire is gathering information about local housing needs through a series of surveys. The results will help us better understand current and future demand for workforce accommodation, independent living options for older residents, and residential land development.

The information collected will be used to guide future housing projects and support funding applications to State and Federal Governments for housing and residential land development initiatives.

This survey focuses on aged independent living and is open to anyone over 50 years of age looking to transition to smaller independent living accommodation in Quairading. We request one consolidated response if answering as a couple. You may submit a response on behalf of family or friends if they are unable to.

If you have any queries regarding the questions in any of the surveys, please contact the CEO Nic Warren on 0488 128 216 or via nic.warren@quairading.wa.gov.au Submissions will close Sunday, 6 September 2026 at 11:59pm.
