The mission of the San Jose Light Tower Corporation (SJLTC), aka Urban Confluence Silicon Valley, is to build Breeze of Innovation, an artistically inspired iconic landmark that will become the architectural legacy of our current generation of leaders and present it as a gift to the city of San Jose, Silicon Valley, and the world.

Breeze of Innovation will be paid for entirely with private money. The project is NOT a “light tower”. The founders were simply inspired by the original San Jose Electric Light Tower that existed from 1881 to 1915.

Selected by a worldwide design competition, Breeze of Innovation can be an impressive symbolic structure appropriate for this unique region that is recognized as the world-wide center of innovation. This bold destination landmark can provide a major enhancement to downtown San Jose and be an important catalyst for Silicon Valley culture and long-term regional economic development. The internationally respected icon will hopefully become a must-see place of hope, healing, and human connection – creating a compelling world-class experience for tourists and the local community.

Urban Confluence Silicon Valley, a private non-profit organization that is not part of the City of San Jose, has received four unanimous approvals from the San Jose City Council during the past five years. Breeze of Innovation aspires to be an iconic landmark comprised of hundreds of tall metal rods that sway in the breeze and create electricity to power lights on the tips of the rods and hopes to display beautiful images created with dramatic LED lighting. Breeze of Innovation might also include a platform at the top for visitors to view the Bay Area and enjoy a beverage while gazing across the beautiful Santa Clara Valley. The magnificent design is intended to create an inspirational urban space in Plaza de Cesar Chavez that includes elements that honor Cesar Chavez, improved event infrastructure, and the popular fountain.
Construction plans do not exist yet. The final design will be developed following community outreach including stakeholder input.

Thank you for your interest in providing feedback and helping shape the future of Plaza de Cesar Chavez and Downtown San Jose. We value your input and would like to gather your feedback and guidance regarding the proposed iconic structure, Breeze of Innovation.
