At the conclusion of the talk, participants will be able to use best practices to:
  1. Analyze how personal biases and institutional practices may contribute to under-recognition of immigration-related trauma.
  2. Evaluate current intake, screening, and case-formulation practices to determine whether they adequately capture immigration-related adversity and culturally relevant protective factors.
  3. Assess the extent to which a child or adolescent’s history includes immigration-related adversities (e.g., threat of detention/deportation, parental detention/deportation, systemic marginalization) in addition to standard ACEs frameworks.
