Barrio traffic circle public art survey

Introduction
Vea esta cuestionario en español.

The City of Carlsbad is gathering input to help shape the design of a new public art piece in the Barrio, planned for the future traffic circle at Pine Avenue and Harding Street. The traffic circle is one part of the city’s larger Barrio traffic calming project, which aims to improve neighborhood safety and mobility.

The artist team, led by Marrio Torero, developed this short survey to gather stories, memories, symbols, ideas and reflections from community members that may help inform the spirit and visual language of the future artwork.
1.What represents the heart of Carlsbad to you?
2.What does “Barrio” mean to you?
3.What people, places, histories or stories should be honored or remembered in this project?
4.What imagery, colors, symbols, plants, animals, architecture or memories remind you of Carlsbad?
5.What would you love future generations to understand about Carlsbad?
6.If you could place one symbol inside the traffic circle artwork, what would it be?
7.Would you be interested in participating in future community conversations, interviews, or art activities related to the project?
8.Which of the following best describes you?
9.Please enter your email address if you would like to receive updates about the Barrio traffic circle public art project.
