Identifying Challenges and Opportunities for Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists Serving Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Infants and Toddlers in Rural and Frontier Communities

Background and Purpose

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) Provider Education Center (PEC) aims to improve the confidence and capacity of health care and allied service professionals who engage in early identification, diagnosis, and provision of services to infants, children, and families interacting with the EHDI system.

The AAP EHDI PEC, in collaboration with the American Speech-Hearing-Language Association (ASHA), would like to gather feedback from audiologists and speech language pathologists serving deaf and hard of hearing (DHH) children in rural and frontier communities. Findings from this questionnaire will be used to inform activities of the EHDI PEC as well as broader EHDI system efforts. This questionnaire should take approximately 15 minutes to complete.

Who should complete this questionnaire?

The target audience of this questionnaire are audiologists and speech language pathologists who care for DHH infants/children and their families living in rural and frontier communities.
