Please read the following information carefully.

Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) funding is one-time federal funds that are sent to help school districts, including Sunnyside School District, recover from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

These funds can be used for immediate, short-term needs such as health and safety improvements, learning enhancements and support, and other programs and areas that help students get back on track with their learning.

It's important to know that these funds have limits:

1) The school district receives the money one time, and can spend it over a three year period.

2) School districts cannot cover current, routine district costs.

3) The funds will run out, so school districts cannot use the funds for expenses that will last beyond three years.

With these things in mind, the Sunnyside School District is asking parents and staff to provide feedback on what they perceive students are most in need of right now.
