Are you interested in a working vacation on St. John in the Virgin Islands?
The Friends of Virgin Islands National Park is seeking applicants for our Volunteer Trail Crew from March through May 2024. The Volunteer Trail Crew's scope of work includes trails maintenance, clearing of historical sites, native tree planting projects, invasive species removal, and trash/debris cleanup. This is physically strenuous work and volunteers should be in good shape and prepared to work in hot and humid conditions.

Volunteers are expected to donate a minimum of 4 days of labor in exchange for 7 nights of accommodation at our campground at Cinnamon Bay. We ask for a $100 donation per week. The minimum time commitment is 1 week and the maximum is 2 weeks. Please check to see if your health insurance covers you in the US Virgin Islands. If not, purchasing traveler insurance is strongly recommended.

Volunteers work from 8am to 2pm. Closed-toe shoes, a day pack, sun protection, long pants, and the capacity to carry a minimum of 3 liters of water are required. Airfare and food expenses not included.

We welcome families and service groups! Thank you for your interest and for completing this application. Please note that filling out this application does not guarantee you a spot in the program. Follow up questions can be directed to the Trails Manager, Taylor White at twhite@friendsvinp.org.
