POAMN CONFERENCE CALL FOR  WORKSHOP & POSTER PROPOSALS

SAVOURING THE JOURNEY

“So that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.”   Acts 3:20

2018 Presbyterian Older Adult Ministries Network (POAMN) Conference

June 5-8, 2018
Zephyr Point Conference Center, Zephyr Cove, Nevada

About the Event:
This event will bring together leaders and experts on aging, and spirituality, as well as leaders from community organizations, seminaries, academia and communities of faith.  We encourage you to attend and to share your expertise by participating in the conference.

This conference will explore how aging, spirituality, and faith community nursing presents us with opportunities to navigate the journey over the life course.  A series of experiential workshops and posters will provide tools to encourage a positive vision of aging within the church, raise staff awareness, develop resources on issues related to aging, and provide a support network for those working with older adults. Conference participants will have a unique opportunity to engage in fellowship, networking, sharing resources, interactive and participatory workshops, creative worship, recreation, entertainment, and inspiring keynote addresses.

Venue:
Zephyr Point located in Nevada on the east shore of Lake Tahoe is a place where you can breathe deeply and experience the peace of God.  It is a place where spiritual renewal takes places in peoples’ lives as they experience the beauty of the lake and the serenity of the mountain wonderland.

Call for Workshop Presentations and Posters
This POAMN four‐day national conference audience includes pastors, chaplains, educators, professionals, paraprofessionals, retired pastors, their spouses or surviving spouses, and the many others who work with older adults.

EDUCATIONAL TRACKS
POAMN offers two different opportunities for educational tracks.

1.       Experiential Workshop (75 minutes):  Workshop sessions examine new program models, promising practices, or applied research on issues within these various fields – congregational, chaplain, spirituality, gerontology, and faith community nursing.

2.       Poster Session (30 minutes):  Poster sessions will be held concurrently during one timeslot based on space available.  Presenters explain and answer questions about their posters, showcasing projects, programs, and/or research.  Posters can include one or more presenters.  Presenters are required to print their posters as handouts for participants.

We are seeking proposals that will enhance the understanding of the journey of aging through research, successful models, or educational programs for people of all ages that foster respect for and a better understanding of the human aging process and enrich the importance of the spiritual lives of individuals as they age.
