AAKP Flash Survey - Understanding Fluid Overload

This survey asks about your experiences with managing fluid as part of living with kidney disease or caring for someone with kidney disease. Throughout the survey, you may see terms such as fluid management, fluid retention, fluid overload, and edema (swelling). These terms are related and may be used to describe having too much fluid in the body or the challenges of managing fluid levels.

For purposes of this survey, fluid overload or fluid retention may include symptoms such as weight gain, swelling in the ankles, legs, feet, hands, abdomen, or other parts of the body, or fluid buildup in the lungs that can make it difficult to breathe. Questions about fluid intake refer specifically to the amount of fluid you drink or consume.
