DEY Survey on the Impact of COVID-19

As the 2019-2020 school year ends, Defending the Early Years wants to learn about the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic on young children, their families, and their teachers, especially related to remote schooling.  As the parent and/or teacher of children from birth through third grade, please fill out the survey about your experiences.

Parents and teachers can fill out the first section on demographics.  Parents should fill out the second section and teachers should fill out the last section.  If you are both a parent and a teacher, please fill out both sections.

Thank you - The DEY Team

The Impact of COVID-19 on Parents and Teachers of Young Children

Informed Consent Form for Research

You are invited to participate in a research study conducted by Dr. Denisha Jones, DEY Co-Director, and Director of the Art of Teaching Program at Sarah Lawrence College. We hope to learn about the impact COVID-19 had on parents and teachers of young children. Survey questions are for parents of young children and teachers of young children.

There is a minimal risk associated with participating in this study.  No one will have access to any personally identifiable information. If you are uncomfortable having your survey information shared with others then you can decline to have your survey responses included in the research study.

The benefit of this study is to educate others on the impact of remote schooling for both parents and teachers of young children. As schools plan for re-opening, we think it is imperative that the experiences of parents and teachers of young children are shared with education stakeholders. However, I cannot guarantee that you personally will receive any benefits from this research

Your participation is voluntary.  Your decision about whether or not to participate will not affect your relationship with DEY.  If you decide to participate, you are free to withdraw your consent and discontinue participation at any time without penalty.

If you have any questions about the study, please feel free to contact (202) 684-1866 denisha@dey.org.

Please indicate that you have read and understood the information provided above, that you willingly agree to participate, that you may withdraw your consent at any time and discontinue participation without penalty, and that you are not waiving any legal claims.
