2022 DEYA Youth Stage Solo Singing/Vocal Music Performance Application
DEYA, an initiative of the Children's Foundation, welcomes youth between the ages of 14 to 19 to enter a Solo Singing/Vocal Music Performance Awards competition.

Cash Prizes for Solo Singing/Vocal Music winners*:
- 1st Place:
- $250 DEYA Solo Singing/Vocal Musical Performance Award to further the winner’s musical studies.
- Two-hour recording session at Motown Museum Hitsville Next with professional recording engineer.
- 2nd Place: $150
- 3rd Place: $100
*Winners must perform at the Concert of Colors DEYA Youth Stage at the University of Michigan Detroit Center's Wolverine Outdoor Stage, outside the DIA, on Saturday July 23rd, where the winners will receive their awards.
Requirements:
- Be between the ages of 14 and 19 as of May 9th, 2022.
- Be either a resident of Detroit, attend school full-time in Detroit, or spend 6+ hours a week working with a Detroit-based organization
- Apply online by May 9th, 2022.
- Submit a 2-to-3-minute video of your solo musical performance.
- The contestant/performer must perform alone. The song can be sung without recorded accompaniment (a capella), with a performer accompanying themselves (on keyboard, guitar, etc.), or by using recorded music as accompaniment. If a backing track or karaoke version is used, no vocals can be on the recorded music. Music samples are allowed if the solo performer is manually activating them as part of the performance.
- MP4, MOV and WMV file formats are accepted.
Award recipients will be notified by May 20, 2022.
