The University of Montana invites proposals for the Dual Enrollment Summit June 20-21, 2022.  The Summit will be held in-person at the Missoula College.  This Summit is a great professional development opportunity for current and potential high school, two-year, and four-year college educators, staff, and administrators. This summit aims to provide an opportunity for connections and networking between college and high school faculty, staff, and administrators to support continuous improvement, quality, and rigor in dual enrollment course offerings to Montana high school students.
Conference Audience May Include:
  • Current or potential high school concurrent enrollment instructors or faculty/administrators
  • College Liaisons
  • College Instructors/Staff/Administrators at Montana's two-year and four-year institutions who oversee Dual Credit courses or have an interest in learning more about overseeing dual enrollment courses.
We are interested in proposals (55 minutes in length, 40 minute presentation with 15 minute Q&A) on dual enrollment, particularly in the following areas:

·         The Pros and Cons of Dual Enrollment

·         Panel Discussion – DE Coordinators, DE Students

·         Dual Enrollment 101 – A crash course

·         Graduate Credit Opportunities

·         1-2-Free, Where do we go from here? (OCHE)

·         Classroom Authenticity and Rigor in the high school classroom

·         Teaching the High School Audience in Higher Ed

·         The Impact of advanced coursework on the high school student

·         Innovative Teaching Methods

·         Online/Blended Learning

·         Promoting and growing Career and Technical Education (CTE) dual enrollment

 

These sessions should be aimed at professional development for others with two overall goals in mind:  

1) Celebrating the current successes and highlighting the best practices of dual enrollment in MT.

2) Improving the quality of Montana dual enrollment.
