Award Description:

The Hermann G. Rusch Lifetime Achievement Award honors chefs who have demonstrated the highest level of commitment to both ACF and the culinary profession. Such chefs, through their involvement with and contributions to ACF and our craft, have advanced the culinary profession and ensured the enrichment of students, our members and those in our profession.
The complete application must include:
· A completed application
· A professional resume and biography of the candidate
· A recommendation letter from a fellow chapter leader that the candidate currently holds or have held an
  elected local chapter office
· A high resolution, digital, color photograph of candidate in a white chef coat 
                  · (minimum 300 dpi, .tif or .jpeg format, minimum
                     1200x1600 pixels)

· All required materials must be submitted before deadline - midnight on November 1, 2020
Candidate Eligibility:
Candidate cannot be running for any other regional or national award from ACF and must:
• Be an ACF member in good standing consistently for at least 15 years.
• Hold or have held the position or positions of executive chef, working chef, chef instructor, pastry chef, research and
   development chef or corporate chef for at least 30 years.  
• Currently hold or have held an elected local chapter office in one of the following positions: president, vice president,
   secretary or treasurer, or served as chair for chapter membership or as Chapter Certification Chairman.
   Documentation required.
• Hold or have held Certified Sous Chef or Certified Working Pastry Chef level or higher.
• Not have applied for any other regional or national award.

NOTE: Past regional winners may reapply after five years. Past national winners cannot reapply. Nominees appearing on a ballot must wait one year between nominations.

Furthermore, I grant permission to the American Culinary Federation and its subsidiaries to use the information included in my application in print and electronically for promotional purposes, which may include video and/or photography. I understand my presence is required in order to accept the award, or I void the agreement stated in the application guidelines and the next competitor that is present will receive the award. Selection Process for the ChefConnects:
Each chapter in good standing, as defined by the ACF Bylaws within your region, will have one vote. Ballots will be sent to chapter presidents electronically from the national office on or before the last working day of November and must be returned to the national office by the posted deadline.

Notification of advancement: January 2021
The regional winners will be announced at the corresponding regional conference during the regional ChefConnect awards ceremony. Attendance is required at the candidates regional ChefConnect to receive the award.

Selection Process for the National Convention:
The four regional winners will vie for the national award. Each chapter in good standing will have one vote. Ballots will be sent to chapter presidents electronically from the national office by the last working day of May and must be returned by the posted deadline for mid-June.

The ballots will be counted and the results kept confidential until the national convention. In the case of a tie, the national president's ballot will be counted to break the tie.

The national winner will be announced at the national convention. Attendance is required.

NOTE: Schedule conflicts will not be accommodated and incomplete applications will not be reviewed.
