Biological Control Insects Interest Form

Are you a Douglas County landowner interested in biological noxious weed control? We will be requesting insects through Washington State University's Integrated Weed Control Project to distribute on behalf of Douglas County producers. Insects will be available on a first come first serve basis, and depending on the insect these releases could take place as early as late April.

Please leave your contact information, some details about your property and the weeds you are interested in controlling. The Douglas County Voluntary Stewardship Program is helping to coordinate this effort for the county, so if you are in Southern Douglas County your information will be shared with South Douglas Conservation District.
1.Name (first and last):(Required.)
2.Email:(Required.)
3.Phone:(Required.)
4.Where is your property located in Douglas County? (property address and/or coordinates and detailed location description)(Required.)
5.Are you comfortable with your specific site location being shared with the WSU Integrated Weed Control Project? As the entity supplying the insects they need to know where the insects are going for their records.
6.What weeds would you like to target?

Russian knapweeds bugs seem to be the most readily available, although insects could become available for other weed species as well. We are currently gauging demand so we know what insects to request and in what quantity we will be able to receive them.

*Dalmatian toadflax insects will not be available this year due to the high concentration of insects already established in the region and our focus on toadflax insects last year.
(Required.)
7.Please list an estimate of acreage and density of each weed you selected above (scattered, patchy or continuous).
Example: Russian knapweed, covers 5+ acres, patchy
Rush Skeletonweed: covers less than 1 acre, continuous
