Ethics in Prevention Training

Please complete the following to register for the Face-To-Face Ethics in Prevention Training.
This is a required training in order to apply for the Certified Prevention Professional (CPP) credential. 
Space is limited. Please register no later than Monday, June 10, 2019. You will receive confirmation via email by Thursday, June 13, 2019.

Hotel Accommodations: Many hotels nearby accept reservations at the state rate.  You are responsible for travel accommodations and for making your own reservations. 
 
Description: This facilitated course addresses the role and application of ethics in substance abuse prevention. Using cases and interactive activities, participants will explore the six standards in the Prevention Code of Ethics and learn to use a 4-step decision-making process to assess, address, and evaluate a range of ethical issues.  

Who Should Attend: State- and local-level substance abuse prevention providers.
 
Cost for Training: There is no fee for attending the training.  For travel costs, please follow guidelines on the OFM website pertaining to hotel and per diem rates in Thurston County: https://www.ofm.wa.gov/sites/default/files/public/resources/travel/colormap.pdf

Accreditation: This course is endorsed by the International Certification and Reciprocity Consortium (IC&RC) for Prevention Specialist Certification.  The Prevention Specialist Certification Board of Washington (PSCBW) has approved this Prevention Ethics course for professionals preparing to obtain their Certified Prevention Professional (CPP) credential.  You must attend the entire training and complete the course in order to gain credit.  6.5 contact education hours provided.
