Drug and Alcohol Services South Australia (DASSA) has prepared a draft Disability Access and Inclusion Plan 2020 -2024 (the ‘DAIP’) which is structured around the themes and priority areas of the Inclusive SA: State Disability Inclusion Plan 2019–2023.

The DAIP sets out actions DASSA will undertake over the next 4 years to improve the accessibility and inclusiveness of our services and supports for people with disability.

We invite people with disability, their carers, family, organisations and other interested parties to provide feedback via survey by 5.00pm, 23 October 2020.

The survey will take about 10-15 minutes depending upon the detail of your responses and starts with a few questions about yourself. If you wish to provide your email address we will email you updates regarding our DAIP development.

• recruiting people living with disability to DASSA’s Community Partnership Program and Community Advisory Council
• ensuring client and public feedback systems are accessible
• reviewing website content and resources to ensure ease of access and content is clearly understood
• holding disability awareness training
• updating client data systems to record disability and NDIS registration

• engaging with advisory groups regarding improvements in treatment services accessibility and staff awareness

• reviewing and developing signage and other resources to support deaf, hard of hearing, blind, vision or hearing-impaired persons in accessing services
• considering improvements within DASSA’s model of care to ensure effective access to our treatment services for people living with disability.
