* CERT Basic Training Course
Location: Rotonda Community Association 646 Rotonda Cir, Rotonda West, FL 33947
Dates for the class: Aug 10th. Aug 17th, and Aug 24th, from 9 - 3
·The course will consist of three days of classes and if you miss a class you can make it up in the next offering
· Topics will include: Preparedness, Light Search and Rescue, Fire Safety, Disaster Psychology, Team organization, and Medical 1 & 2.
·Please bring lunch and something to drink
· Please bring something to take notes.
· Please do not wear sandals. It is recommended to bring a sweater since the building can get chilly. It is suggested to bring a hat and sunscreen if you need to protect yourself from the sun for periods when you may be outside.

* Shelter Fundamentals Training Course

Join us for this Shelter Fundamentals training and learn the guidelines and procedures for opening, operating and closing a shelter during a disaster. Class participants will work on a case study that takes them through the four key phases of the sheltering cycle.

In just a few hours, you will receive the necessary training to become part of a team of a caring workforce. This training is without cost to the participants.

Date: June 18th 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm

This month's training will be a full scale shelter drill. It will allow CERT members the opportunity to set up, operate, and close down a shelter. This will allow members to understand the responsibility of each role in the shelter and how shelters in Charlotte County function.
