This survey relates to a project focused on Exploring Pathways for Strengthening the Voice of Lived Experience in SA. It is being completed by Ellie Hodges and is supported by the South Australian Mental Health Commission.
This project is a critical step in putting a spotlight on lived experience activities, development and influence in SA and adds weight to the question of why, outside of the NT, is SA the only state or territory jurisdiction that does not have a peak body for consumers with a lived experience of mental health issues or an organised way for influencing policy.
One of the options being explored for strengthening the voice of lived experience is the idea of establishing and developing an entity that brings both consumers and carers together. This entity could be a network, a peak body, a group of organisations and people - or similar - working together collaboratively and in partnership to create and influence change.
Whilst the entity for strengthening lived experience voice will be focused on the South Australian context this survey is open more widely as we know that we can learn from other people and/or organisations who may be located elsewhere.
We thank you for taking the time to participate and invite you to contact Ellie with any questions or comments you may have. Ellie can be reached on ellie.hodges@sa.gov.au or 0422 888 157.
