The NWBA seeks to dramatically expand access for wheelchair basketball athletes. Timing is critical; the upcoming 2028 Los Angeles Paralympics creates a once-in-a-generation opportunity to elevate awareness, recruit new athletes, and build sustainable participation pathways across the country. The NWBA’s overarching goal is to add 250 new teams by our 2032-2033 season. One of our Strategic Initiatives is to secure grant funding to help offset some start-up costs for ten new teams in our 2026-2027 season and 25 new teams in our 2027-2028 season. We need your help in understanding where team growth opportunities exist with our current programs.
