Welcome to the scholarship application form.
Please fill out and submit this application to be considered for a scholarship. This scholarship is available for applicants who meet the criteria as outlined below, to attend Nautical Institute Academy Workshops, working in collaboration with The Seafarers' Charity.

- Are currently employed or have a career a seagoing or shore-side maritime role
- Are committed to applying the course learning to improve workplace culture and crew wellbeing aboard
- Would benefit from training but may face financial or systemic barriers to access
- Have nationality from low-GDP countries, LDC, or Small Island Developing States (SIDS)
Please note that each candidate can only apply for one of the in-person workshop scholarship places.
Mental Health & Wellbeing: Designed for all kinds of mariners and seafarers, and open to all in a maritime role.
Leadership & Professional Behaviours: Designed for senior officers, master mariners and others in similar roles of leadership working aboard vessels or managing crew.
Additional Information
The Scholarship is provided in Collaboration with The Seafarers' Charity, and provides full funding of fees for a place in an in-person workshop.
The Scholarship as awarded does not cover travel or accommodation.
Note: If you're you're unable to attend the in-person workshop designated, we can transfer your Scholarship Place to our online courses (5-day Leadership & Management course, or 2-day Seafarer Mental Health & Cre Wellbeing course).
For your application, please also ensure you have:
- A digital copy of your CoC, or similar equivalent seagoing/maritime certification. We will also accept a CV (Resume) for shore-side personnel or individuals early in their career.
- A Letter of Recommendation or Character Reference (personal, academic or professional, that gives us an indication you'll be able to take further what you learn and apply it to better maritime safety and culture).
