Application Instructions
Purpose
ADCES seeks to provide an opportunity to a diabetes care and education specialist to learn about type 1 diabetes from the perspective of the patient, family and caregiver.
Award
This award recipient will receive complementary registration, housing and travel-related expense reimbursement to attend the Children with Diabetes Friends for Life Conference in Disney's Coronado Springs Resort, Lake Buena Vista, Florida on July 6-11, 2021.
This fellowship exposes a member to children and families who are affected by type 1 diabetes, and mirrors a fellowship offered by the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists which seeks to develop professional understanding and strengthen the relationship between endocrinologists and diabetes care and education specialists.
Eligibility
Applicant must be an active member of ADCES, as defined by the Association's Bylaws, including at the time of submission and at the time of receipt of the award.

Qualifications for an ADCES member to apply to attend this program include:
- Should work with children with type 1 diabetes
- Should be interested in expanding their experience in working with children with type 1 diabetes.
Applications must be submitted by March 1, 2021.
Application Process
All applications must be complete to be considered. Please be sure to provide as much detail as possible in your answers. Applications demonstrating thoughtful, detailed responses tend to yield more favorable results.
An email confirmation will be sent after the application is received. If a confirmation has not been received by March 22, it is the applicant's responsibility to contact ADCES at awards@adces.org.
